Domain user login

I have a HP laptop with a fingerprint scanner.  About 4 months ago I enabled the fingerprint as an alternate sign in for my user account on windows.  It worked well.  About 2 weeks ago my company added a user and connected the computer to a windows domain to access a network storage drive.  The computer functioned well for about a week while the finger print alternate password was still in effect for the original user account..  After a week the newly added user was not able to access this network storage drive.  My company found out that it was because the newly added user was not signing into the domain and only to the windows program.  It was a easy fix however I was blamed for this and my company told me it was messed up because I had a fingerprint login.  I was curious if this was true, since the finger print log in for the main user account was active and the system functioned fine for a week for both users.  I feel that the passwords remained a static factor and now change was made to them so I don't see how this would all of a sudden log off the second user from the domain.  Can any one provide me with any information to help me defend myself in explaining that this would not be cause by having an existing password all of a sudden log off another user from a domain.
